Dr. Abtin Obar (D.V.M,DAc) has been practicing medical acupuncture for over ten years. He conducts clinical research on acupuncture and diseases including insomnia, headache, back pain and shoulder, neck pain. His collaborators include medical doctors and scientists from Canadian College of Avicenna, the Centre for Pain and Pain management and also teaching center.
He is the founder and head of the medical acupuncture clinic at the Canadian College of Avicenna. He has been often featured, both nationally and locally, on television and radio stations, magazines, and newspapers. Dr. Obar is a graduate from

in Canada. He earned DAc degree ffrom

. He has spoken at national and international professional conferences, as well as publishing numerous research papers in various peer reviewed journals.

What is treatment like?
First, the practitioner will collect as much information as possible regarding your health condition. This will include taking a detailed case history and other physical exams as necessary.
The information is to help the practitioner decide which therapeutic methods will bring the patient the most benefit. Methods include acupuncture, insertion of fine needles in specific points on the body.
